Mexico lindo y querido

I knew Mexico through my grandmother as culture in the dawn in the century came from that place. I always knew it was north america but no text book would admite it.It was latin american north as we wanted to be more and more mexican.

Colombians enjoy mexican music:  Mariachi singing for seduction , while celebrating mother.s day, as a tribute in the funeral. We sing happy bday song or mexican Morning song too.

I grew up laughing at Cantinflas instead of Chaplin because we need hummor that makes us proud of being latin americans. He is an incoherent man that meets more incoherent ppl in his path. His movies end lectuting that he is a free man,  totally human  in a deshumanized world for tge lower class. We watch tv to see Chespirito and his average characters, kids like us.

Dilia adore Mexican divas,  strong women  balancing the cosmos as they should,  beautiful amazons that made men suffer for their misogynia. But as well mexican leading men as Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante,  Pedro Almendariz showed all macho men with a heart of gold.

Now in the middle east I met  mexican woman. My alyah friend was a very intelligent but we grew apart because she lack reality. She had all the tools for becoming an successfull israeli but sadly she never left her bubble in Mexico City.  She didn.t become an adult, she just expected life to grand her wishes. Pity.

Now days we listen to rock from Mana, we watch telenovelas abd the new cinema with Dog Love o And your mother too, we eventually drink tequila or eat tortilla related food.

Last week i met another young mexican woman. Proud of being herself, smart and opened minded she came to Tel Aviv to study. She is learning to read hebrew and already is trying to adapt to make this place her home. Azlaja! I hope she enjoys this beduin journey.
