Contemporary #Crypto Jew

Today thinking how the Ukraine refugee crisis has risen awareness about war and persecution. There are still around 200.000 returning law ukranian citizens that have the right to come to Israel as their grandparents were jewish. Their heritage comes from a story of survival that became critical in 1930. At the start of Nazism all across Europe, nationalistic movements exploded all over, and the narrative of segregation just pushed the now rising violence against the foreigner. Due to the ostracism of Jewish communities all around Europe in ghettos, as they were not allowed to own or work on land, these city habitants, never citizens, saw how even the non religious Jews suffered the hartred. 

But the east of Europe with it's bucholic scenery, pushed by the Communist Party recently victory, did not offer a better situation. Continued massacres or polgroms happened, whole Jewish ghetto towns were vanished. In the brink of war, with the Polish invasion by Nazi Germany and it's radial expansion, eastern Jews fled more to the east. Heard the stories of Siberia, of Israel, of America, Africa, even Arab States that in those days were Ottoman Empire. Really, not as colorful as Fiddler in the Roof going to America. Just pure hunger, fear and miracleous encounters with human kindness that fed, hid and sheltered the runaways. 

But some young people decided to step forward and fight, beside memorable partisans, the Red Army rose as a honorable alternative to defend the land for aniquilation. Remember, Nazism only believe in this imaginarian pure Arian soul, and the Slavs were inferior and were next in line as other "inferior" asian "races" as Koreans and Chinese. Yes, Nazis did not reach the Far East, but they had Helping Imperial Japan to spread the message. 

So those almost 2 million Jewish Russian Speakers are the Contemporary Crypto Jew. As happened at 1492 with more than a million semites, Muslims and Jews living for centuries in the territory of the Iberic Peninsula.  Although Jewish communities tried to become accepted as citizens, they were first persecuted by the Inquisition and later expelled. As the refugee crisis aroused, and African and Aborigen America's population suffered aniquilation during the conquest, slavery and colonization of their territories, some cripto Jews chose the exile to these new lands.

Seven decades later, the story repeated.Althought these military Red Army Officials served the new conformed USSR, their lives was against constrainted, as any religious faith was abolished. Being openly different to the Communist definition of Cammarade, being  Jewish was not criminal but tabu. The ghetto communal culture, yiddish dialect, and the religiosity were banned. Self image was vanished and the identity was kept secret. 

Sadly, their siblings were banned from their parents all the ethnic background and language became Russian. Cleansing of the brain to protect their descendants was so harsh, that on the 1990 when Israel repatried 1.5 people, they only could prove their heritage by their German Yiddish or Jewish Last Names. 

So, geopolitically speaking, Russian Speaking Jews are the Contemporary Ethnic Group that suffers the most recent persecusion. Sadly, nationalistic sentiment on Europe has an agenda against immigration and the classic foreign is always the semite, Jew and Arab. It does not matter if the Arab is not Muslim, he is still granted the rejection. And in that light, Ukraine although under a Crypto Jewish President, as a country has exposed as heroes the founding defenders against Red Army, that happen to be Nazi Collaborators and openly polgroms executioners.

So the rethoric about neonazis presence is accured, as is that war crimes are being committed from both sides. Clear example is the cold bloody assassination of Israeli by Ukrainian forces, although he was a son of a Russian Speaking crypto Jew too. He just looked too Muslim as a kurd, the army said. Desnazification is a poor excuse too, by the way.
